On March 23, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-Ho participated in a traffic safety campaign event near Dodam Elementary School, Sejong, to advocate for safe commuting to school. As the new spring semester begins, the Ministry of Education, Sejong Office of Education, Korean National Police Agency, school staffers and parents have teamed up to spread the culture of "relaxed driving, safe kids" to promote a safe traffic culture to ensure that students are allowed to commute to and from school safely and securely. At the event, Deputy PM Lee thanked the efforts made by the schools and parents to make roads safer by providing traffic guidance to children every morning in a bid to prevent traffic accidents, saying, "I hope that the community as a whole including the offices of education, police agency and schools will work more closely together in this effort." He concluded, "The Ministry of Education will do its utmost to create a safe environment around schools while paying close attention to the requests made from the ground."
