MOE Announces 2022 Work Plan with Measures Aimed at Returning to Normalcy

 

Ministry of Education (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hae) announced its 2022 Work Plan on January 5, 2022, under the theme of ‘Returning to normalcy and transforming the future education environment for innovative talent cultivation.’

This year’s work plan comprises the strategies to successfully overcome the COVID-19 crisis, cope with the rapidly changing world and achieve education transformation, based on the efforts and the performance of the past 4.5 years.

The Ministry of Education presented three core projects of this year: improving the school life through implementation of strong preventive measures against COVID-19, delivering education system transformation for future talent cultivation, and establishing educational and social policies that can be relied on.

- With students’ overall health and safety being a top priority, the MOE will take tougher anti-infection measures and make thorough preparation by the beginning of the new semester for better school life and classroom environment.

- Starting in the first semester of 2022, the MOE will support all elementary, middle, high schools and universities to hold in-person classes and operate the curriculum.

- In order to nurture the innovative talents for the future, the MOE will accelerate the transformation process in secondary, higher and lifelong education.
