On February 1, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-Ho held a briefing on RISE, Regional Innovation System & Education project, at Kumoh National Institute of Technology. He said, "We'll ensure RISE takes firm root by supporting the autonomous innovation of higher education institutions facing various crises, namely the declining student-age population, so that all of them can further develop into competitive "glocal" institutions, proudly representing different regions across the country." He further emphasized, "The Ministry of Education will work closely with the local authorities to lead the effort to support the institutions and to encourage active participation of relevant ministries."
