On Monday, November 10, Minister of Education Choi Kyo-jin held a briefing at the Government Complex Sejong to announce the “AI for All: National Strategy for Cultivating Artificial Intelligence Talent,” aimed at leading the era of AI transformation and supporting all citizens in developing AI competencies. Based on a sense of urgency that “falling behind by a single day in the intensifying global AI competition could mean losing an entire generation,” the government is concentrating its efforts on preparing for a transition to an AI-driven society. Recognizing that talent is the foundation of the AI transformation, the Ministry of Education developed this plan through field consultations and policy research. Through its national education agenda, the government has already set key tasks for nurturing future talent in the AI-driven digital era. With this announcement, the Ministry of Education plans to accelerate these national tasks and support Korea’s goal of becoming one of the world’s top three AI-powered nations.

Minister Choi stated, “Cultivating AI talent is a national survival strategy?an issue that requires collective reflection and action.” He continued, “The Ministry of Education will do everything possible to support basic AI education across all stages of life so that every citizen can easily use AI in daily life, and to nurture diverse AI experts who will lead the coming AX (AI Transformation) era.” He also emphasized, “AI transformation and talent development require the collaboration of all government ministries; therefore, we will strengthen cooperation with relevant ministries and maintain continuous communication with the field to enhance government support.”
