DATE 2021-12-01 NAME 김경도 HIT 2409

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hae announced the outline of the 2022 Revised Curriculum with the Committee for Curriculum Revision, Presidential Council on Education, and the National Council of Governors of Education at Haemil Elementary School in Sejong on November 24. It was an opportunity for Deputy Prime Minister Yoo to discuss relevant policy issues with students, parents, teachers and experts and to elaborate on the main facts about the revised curriculum.

The decision to revise the national curriculum was prompted by the notion that there is a need to innovate the nation's education system to help its learners be equipped with the basic skills and knowledge required to addressing a range of societal changes such as digital transformation, climate change and a declining school-age population, and to help them develop into initiative-driven adults equipped with a sense of tolerance and creativity.

Deputy Prime Minister Yoo said, "The 2022 Revised Curriculum is significant, in that the revision will fully reflect the ideas presented by the actual stakeholders of education such as students, parents teachers and the rest of the citizens from all walks of life." She added, "We'll ensure that every single one of our students can realize their potential in their own unique ways by supporting them with an innovative curriculum."
