On March 15, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-Ho attended a meeting organized with character education experts to listen to the voices of those working on the ground as well as the insight of various experts in character education to eradicate violence in schools.

Deputy Prime Minister Lee said, "Although the after-the-fact management of both victims and perpetrators of school violence is important, character education is critical to preventing school violence in the first place." He added, "The Ministry of Education will focus our work to come up with responsive measures to eradicate school violence by educating our students to respect their peers and be considerate toward others with relevant character education."
