On February 9, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-Ho and Ambassador Philippe Lefort of France to Korea held a meeting at Seoul Government Complex.

At the meeting, they updated the status of education in Korea and France, respectively, and discussed ways to further expand educational cooperation through language education, as well as the exchange of students and educational institutions between the two countries.

Deputy PM Lee said, "To continuously reinforce the friendly ties between Korea and France, among all spheres, education indeed is the most important area as it is what fosters the next-generation leaders of the future." He added, "I hope our meeting today will reinvigorate the relationship between our two countries, and I'd like to ask for your kind support for even stronger bonds."
