On August 24, the Ministry of Education (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-Ho) announced the "Development Plan for Secondary Vocational Education" to foster technical talents who will be the new leaders of the digital era. Since the inception of industrial demand-driven high schools (hereinafter referred to as "Meister High Schools") in 2008, secondary vocational education has garnered significant and sustained public support, serving as a crucial avenue for advancing education. However, a sense of urgency has arisen due to the recent sharp decline in specialized high school admission resources and a rise in the number of students undecided about their careers. In response to this pressing situation, the government has introduced the “Secondary Vocational Education Development Plan.” This comprehensive initiative is designed to facilitate a smooth transition and foster the continued growth of secondary vocational education.
