The Ministry of Education (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Lee Ju-Ho) together with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Minister Cho KyooHong), Governors Association of the Republic of Korea (President, Lee Chulwoo), and National Council of Governors of Education (President, Cho Heeyeon) will convene a joint declaration for the consolidation of early childhood and care on July 14 (Friday) at the Seoul Government Complex.

In line with the joint declaration, these four ministries and agencies will initiate the following measures to create an environment conducive to all parents and children in Korea: ① Cooperating on the consolidation of early childhood and care for the healthy and well-rounded growth of all children, ② Making a full commitment to secure finances and human resources for the safe consolidation of early childhood and care, and ③ Collaborating to foster a parenting-friendly society and a joyful community beyond the consolidation of early childhood and care. A dedicated working group will be established and operated to ensure smooth initiation and cooperation for the consolidation of early childhood and care.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-Ho emphasized, “The synergy created through collaboration among the four ministries and agencies is pivotal to achieving the world best early childhood education and care, as highlighted by President Yoon Suk Yeol.” He added, “As a result of today’s joint declaration, we will gather our wisdom together, both at the central and local levels, to achieve the consolidation of early childhood and care.” (July 14, 2023, Seoul Government Complex)
