-The Ministry of Education (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, KIM Sang-kon) dispatched three professors from the Korea National Open University to Mozambique for consulting services on establishing a distance education system.

This consulting service is part of the Korean Education Ministry's Fund-in-Trust called "UNESCO-Republic of Korea Joint Initiative on ICT Transforming Education in Africa," which aims to build the ICT infrastructure and support the educational development in Rwanda, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.

The Korean National Open University dispatched professors in the field of media, youth education, and e-learning to the distance education center located in Mozambique. They will provide consulting services to 24 specialists for two weeks (July 22 to August 7, 2017) about operating/managing open and distance learning.

In addition, the professors will visit universities in Mozambique to examine their distance education system and provide possible solutions to help them overcome any obstacles they may have.

-This consulting service is expected to improve the ICT learning environment in Mozambique, and enhance the multimedia content development capability of teachers and specialists.

In this context, the Korean Minsitry of Education plans to provide consulting services on distance education for six additional months for further support.
