On Friday, June 11, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hae held an expert advisory meeting on social recovery at the Government Complex Seoul.
This advisory meeting was arranged to look into the major plans for social recovery formulated by the government in the fight against COVID-19. These plans are to overcome the adverse impact of the coronavirus and to strengthen resilience to crises. This meeting also served as a forum for experts to share their opinions on how to improve the existing measures. At the meeting, participants discussed ways to solve the worsening care deficit in disadvantaged groups of children, the elderly, and the disabled due to the pandemic and to improve the quality of the care services.
Deputy PM emphasized that “We need to reconnect our social network COVID-19 has severed and to bridge the gap between different groups in our society.” She further said, “The valuable insights and opinions gathered at today’s meeting will be thoroughly studied to draw up specific actions and have them reflected in the social recovery plans.” (June 11, 2021, Government Complex Seoul)
